Data Locator Group Bought By Its Management
Data Locator chief executive, Jeremy Whitaker, has led a management buy-out of the leading integrated data and services group. The former European managing director of Brann Marketing Services has purchased the company from founder Simon Johnson, in conjunction with other senior managers for an amount in the region of £25 million.
The Group was bought in conjunction with private equity firm Promethean Investments. The other senior managers behind the buy out are chief operations officer John Dunne, chief financial officer Ivan Parkinson, group sales director Graham Bate, group marketing director Jason Froggett, group commercial director Sue Nelson and group data director Richard Webster.
In addition the management team will be strengthened by non-executive Roy Boss, former European managing director of Brann Worldwide. The Group will change its name to DLG but will continue to market its leading consumer lifestyles data under the name of Data Locator.
"DLG has an excellent record of growth since it was established in 1999, becoming a prominent player in its sector in just seven years. It has a first rate management team and a deep and rich client base,2 says Jeremy Whitaker.
"DLG is a business that excites me enormously; our growth rate is astounding, our business model unique, and our people universally acknowledged to provide exceptional service. The foundations for significant transformation are all clearly in place and we intend to grow the business considerably."
Mike Biddulph, Principal of Promethean Investments commented: "The database marketing sector is fundamental to most consumer led organisations and DLG has the opportunity to be at the forefront of the next stage of its development. DLG is a dynamic young business with an exceptional management team, offering us the potential for rapid growth through the continued development of its existing services and the acquisition of complimentary businesses."
